Default Kyle McClellan to the rotation?

KSDK was saying something during the game about it that if the injuries to Wainwright and/or Wellemeyer turn out serious, Kyle may move to the rotation but then what? Sounds like he might stay in the rotation which was interesting to hear..

McClellan considered for move to rotation
By Derrick Goold

HOUSTON — As starved for healthy starting pitchers as the Cardinals could be this week, manager Tony La Russa won't hasten rookie Kyle McClellan's move to the rotation if it's a temporary assignment.

"The only way you should do that is if it's permanent, for the season," La Russa said Sunday morning at Minute Maid Park. "The best guy is McClellan. But you have to stretch him out. You only do that if he's a starter from then on."

"Whether I'm pitching the first inning or the last inning, I'll treat it all the same," McClellan said. "Let's just wait and see what happens with Wainwright and the others before we jump to conclusions."

La Russa feels the same. He will wait for word today. Said the manager: "Gloom is for later."
