ST. LOUIS -- Tyler Johnson underwent surgery on his ailing left shoulder on Wednesday, and while the procedure was successful, Johnson will be out for quite a long time.
According to a release from the team, Johnson had "arthroscopic surgery with debridement of scar tissue" in his pitching shoulder. He is expected to be unavailable for what the team said is "a minimum of six months." Johnson was initially diagnosed with tendinitis and a rotator cuff strain, though the club has more recently called his injury "capsulitis."
