On Saturday, the St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have agreed on contract terms with their top selection in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, shortstop Peter Kozma. Financial terms were not announced. He was the 18th overall selection in the first round.
I'm really wondering about the progress of Kozma. Hopefully he'll be ready to move up to higher A or AA soon but no need to rush him.
Thats actually a good thing to wonder about.. I'll look around and see if I can find anything about him recently.. not having much luck right off.. I would think he'd start the year in High A but just a guess.. maybe the Swing before Palm Beach though?

He might actually stay in Batavia because he only hit .148 in his 8 games there. Though he should gain some experience in the winter and i'd like to see him start next season in swing.

It wouldnt be a bad idea to keep him there for a lil bit but wouldnt be surprised if he's what the team thought when they drafted him to see him make the jump fast.. they dont mess around with this stuff lately.. It was a questionable draft pick but I dont think he'll turn into a major league SS.. just honestly how I feel.. hope I'm wrong in the future for the Cards sake!

I could see him being a major bust or a major win for us, depends on how he plays next year in the minors. Haha, i can't wait to see Rasmus in the majors, especially since our last succesful prospect isn't on the team anymore (been said too much lol).

Barton.. errr.. Haren? Haha.. I didnt mind that trade and I still dont.. never really thought highly of Dan but Barton had nowhere to play on this team.. it sucks but oh well. I'll admit we could have used Haren this past year but I'm still ok with the deal.. its done and over with.. we got a WS out of it and thats ok.. Whos to say Haren would have brought us a WS that year? Not that Mulder did much but he did have a decent year with us (I just dont remember, was it 05? If so that was it IMO)..
