Edmonds drops ceremonial first puck
The St. Louis Cardinals' victory tour made
another stop Monday night when center fielder Jim Edmonds dropped
the ceremonial first puck before the Blues faced off against the
Anaheim Ducks.
Edmonds' appearance came one day after a crowd of between
300,000 and 400,000 fans lined the streets of St. Louis and filled
Busch Stadium to honor the Cardinals following their World Series
victory. St. Louis captured its 10th title and first since 1982 by
eliminating the Detroit Tigers in Game 5 on Friday.
The outfielder became the second member of the Cardinals
organization honored by the Blues since the World Series ended. St.
Louis manager Tony La Russa dropped the puck Saturday before the
Blues lost to the Detroit Red Wings.
