Postseason hopes dwindling...M's lose to A's
14 of the last 16 are losses....Yikes.

They teared up after Monday's 9-3 loss to the Oakland A's. The loss, the 14th in their last 16th games, dropped the Mariners 5 1/2 games behind the New York Yankees in the Wild Card chase with 20 games remaining. Reality is taking a toll.
Asked what's left, McLaren said, "We're preparing them and we're playing hard every night. We could pitch a little better, hit a little better. It's easy to get down. The guys care out there. If you ask them to a man, they're not happy right now. They're competing well, and ah ..."
