The Mariners are really making a strong push for the playoffs...

SEATTLE -- Miguel Batista allowed the first batter he faced to hit a home run. Detroit didn't score against him again.
Batista's gem and Kenji Johjima's grand slam powered the Mariners past the Tigers, 6-4, on Saturday night in front of 38,202 at Safeco Field. Seattle has now won 16 of its last 20 home games and handed Tigers pitcher Kenny Rogers his first loss this season.
Curtis Granderson hit the leadoff home run, but the Mariners quickly responded. After Rogers loaded the bases with none out in the sixth, Johjima capped an eight-pitch at-bat by rocketing the ball into the left-center-field seats.
