Default Mariners vs. Tiger Game Thread 5/8 - 5/10

Game #1 Recap:

Quote:
The Detroit Tigers matched the longest winning streak in baseball this season.

Omar Infante drove in a career-high four runs, Gary Sheffield homered and two outfielders made spectacular catches to seal Detroit's 9-7 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.
Quote:
Horacio Ramirez (2-2) allowed seven runs and 11 hits -- matching the career high he gave up in his last start -- over 5 2-3 innings.

"I don't know what is going on," he said. "I just know I have to make some kind of adjustment pretty quick."

Game #2 Recap

Good game for the Mariner's today...Jose Guillen just pounded the Tigers. Baek also pitched his first career complete game and didn't walk a single batter.

Quote:
Baek finished with a six-hitter, Jose Guillen hit a three-run homer, and the Seattle Mariners snapped the Detroit Tigers' eight-game winning streak with a 9-2 victory Wednesday night.

"They were looking for fastballs first two innings, so Jo (catcher Jenji Johjima) and me went to changeups," Baek said.

Guillen also had a run-scoring fielder's choice, and Raul Ibanez had three hits, drove in a run, and scored two runs. Seattle, which had three runs each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, finished with 16 hits -- including a season high-tying six doubles.
Another big hitting game which is great to see. Other good news...looks like Felix is going to be back soon.

Quote:
Seattle's Felix Hernandez, on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right forearm, played catch for 20 minutes on Wednesday and felt good afterward, according to pitching coach Rafael Chaves. Hernandez threw three innings of a simulated game on Tuesday, and Chaves said he would have a bullpen session on Friday
