Default Wilson is AFL's first Player of the Week

Michael Wilson is off to a torrid start for Peoria. The 23-year-old prospect smacked two grand slams and drove in 11 runs en route to being named the first Player of the Week for the 2006 Arizona Fall League season.

The former second-round pick, who has hit safely in his first five games, is batting .273 and leads the AFL with 13 RBIs.

Wilson earned the kudos after smacking grand slams in back-to-back victories over the Peoria Saguaros on Friday and the Scottsdale Scorpions on Saturday. Against the Saguaros, he plated six runs in a 9-8 victory.

Waikiki BeachBoys
LHP David Asher -- After two solid starts, Asher was roughed up in his third start of the season, against Honolulu on Oct. 13. The 23-year-old lasted only 1 2/3 innings, surrendering seven runs on six hits in the loss. He struck out one and walked three. He is 0-1 with an 8.38 ERA in three starts for the BeachBoys.

RHP Joe Woerman -- The 23-year-old has allowed just one run in 6 1/3 innings over four appearances for the BeachBoys. He has a 1.42 ERA but has not yet recorded a decision. Woerman has struck out seven and walked two.

1B Reed Eastley -- After a slow start that included an 0-for-14 skid, Eastley went 4-for-6 with two RBIs over his last two games to raise his average to .227. The 23-year-old had two hits and an RBI in a 6-0 victory over West Oahu on Oct. 12, and he contributed two hits and an RBI in a 4-1 victory over Honolulu on Saturday.

LF Sebastian Boucher -- Boucher's early-season struggles continue. He is batting .130 in seven games (3-for-23) with one RBI and one extra-base hit. The 24-year-old collected his first RBI in an Oct. 12 victory over West Oahu.

C Jeff Clement -- Clement is off to a slow start in his first five games. He is 3-for-14 (.214) without an RBI and does not have an extra-base hit. The 23-year-old hit .257 with four homers and 37 RBIs in 67 games with Triple-A Tacoma in 2006.

Peoria Javelinas
RHP Craig James -- The 23-year-old has made two appearances out of the Javelinas' bullpen. He yielded two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning on Oct. 12. The Miami native tossed a scoreless inning of relief on Monday against Mesa. He has a 10.80 ERA, and opponents are batting .444 against him.

RHP Stephen Kahn -- Kahn struck out one in a perfect sixth inning in Monday's 11-4 victory over Mesa. It was his first appearance of the season for the Javelinas.

LHP Bobby Livingston -- Livingston made his first start of the season, against the Peoria Saguaros, on Oct. 12. The 24-year-old surrendered seven runs on eight hits in just 2 1/3 innings. He struck out one and did not walk a batter.

LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith -- The Australian has made back-to-back perfect relief appearances for the Javelinas. The 23-year-old struck out two in two perfect frames against Scottsdale on Saturday and worked a 1-2-3 fifth inning in Tuesday's 14-9 loss to Mesa. Rowland-Smith has a 1.80 ERA in five innings over three appearances. He has struck out six and walked one.

2B Michael Garciaparra -- Garciaparra followed his 1-for-4 debut, against Grand Canyon, with a 3-for-5 night, driving in three runs and scoring three times in a 17-15 victory over the Peoria Saguaros on Oct. 12. The 23-year-old sat out the next three games.

3B Matt Tuiasosopo -- The 20-year-old started slowly, going 1-for-13 in his first three games, but he has rebounded in his last two. Tuiasosopo is 3-for-9 with three RBIs and three runs scored over that span, raising his average to .182. He had two hits and two RBIs in Monday's victory over Mesa.

Well he's kind of had it in me ever since i accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly" and replace "dog" with "son".
