With his pursuit of Hank Aaron's home run record possibly moving to the American League next season, Barry Bonds is making what could be his last visit to Atlanta.
Bonds hopes not, though.
"I want to play next year and my preference is to stay in San Francisco," the controversial slugger said as he sat in front of his locker before a weekend game against Cincinnati. "But it ain't my call. It's the Giants' call. Right now, I think I'll play next year and I want to. I'm not going to worry about where. It's not time for that. It's not even time to make a decision about playing."
Bonds comes to Atlanta for a three-game series against the Braves beginning tonight with 725 homers — 30 behind career record-holder Aaron. He is just eight behind Aaron's National League mark of 733.
