The ship of the damned sailed south to San Diego on Sunday night. Rookie catcher Russell Martin bid the bedraggled travelers bon voyage when he hit Vinnie Chulk's second pitch of the 10th inning into the left-field pavilion for a 1-0 Dodgers victory.
Sunday's on-board entertainment was sublime, although the Giants hardly could enjoy the show as they lost their fifth straight game, and 16th out of 19, and were swept out of Chavez Ravine for the first time in 11 years with three one-run defeats.
