Bucs' Snell, Gorzelanny look for boost
The Washington Nationals' struggling offense could be just the tonic for Pirates starters Ian Snell and Tom Gorzelanny. Snell (2-6, 5.65 ERA) is 0-6 since April 12, and Gorzelanny (4-5, 6.83) owns one win in the past month. The Nationals are hitting .232 as a team - by far the lowest in the majors - and scored one run or fewer in six of their past nine games, while going 1-8. Take away a 10-9, extra-inning victory over the Cardinals on June 5, and the Nationals have scored eight runs in their past eight games. Snell looks to take advantage. He allowed one earned run in five innings and struck out nine but was a tough-luck loser to the Diamondbacks and Brandon Webb, 3-1, on Friday.
