Charlie Manuel's future
Interesting tidbit over on the Yahoo! Sports rumor page:
"When Philadelphia Phillies GM Pat Gillick was asked by Jody McDonald on Sports Talk 950 if he were in a mood to re-up manager Charlie Manuel, he responded, 'No.' The conversation continuing, Gillick said two more words. One was no. The other: No. That made it three 'no's' in about 10 seconds... The Phillies are a third-place club with the personnel to be so much better. If they add a playoff spot to that inventory, hand Charlie Manuel a raise and a commitment."
So what do you make of this? Is Manuel definitely on his way out, or is Gillick just waiting and considering his options?
