Phillies' eighth annual Phan Fest scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23
CLEARWATER -- There's something for Phillies fans of all ages during the eighth annual Phan Fest scheduled for Friday evening, February 23, at Bright House Networks Field. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The City of Clearwater Department of Parks and Recreation, COSTCO of Clearwater, the Phillies and the Clearwater Threshers are sponsoring Phan Fest that includes:
Autographs: Players Brett Myers, Shane Victorino, Chris Coste and Wes Helms and coach Davey Lopes will sign autographs from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The players will be set up in two stations. Cost per station is $15.00 and includes one autograph from each of the players at that station. Fans may purchase additional coupons, one at a time, until the supply is exhausted.
Photo Booth: Phillies Alumni Club legends Gary Matthews and Von Hayes will be stationed in a Photo Booth (6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.). For a $15.00 fee, fans may have their photo taken with the two members of the 1983 National League Champion Phillies. Matthews and Hayes will also autograph the photograph.
Silent Auction: Autographed items from the Phillies and other sports celebrities will be available during a Silent Auction (5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) that will be set up on the Main Concourse next to the Diamond Outfitters store.
Raffle: Chances for Phillies memorabilia items, including a bat signed by National League MVP Ryan Howard and a bat autographed by All-Star second baseman Chase Utley will be available at the locations that sell the autograph coupons.
Yard Sale: Game-worn jerseys from Phillies major and minor leaguers will be available for purchase at a stand on the concourse.
Fireworks: The evening concludes with a large aerial fireworks show that will start shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Mascots: Phinley, mascot of the Clearwater Threshers, will be there to greet fans.
For the kids: Face painters, speed pitch, moon bounce, the playground in left field, rock climbing and other games will be available for children.
Phillies Charities, Inc.: Proceeds will go to Phillies Charities, Inc., the ball club's official charity. Phillies Charities, Inc., in turn, will split the proceeds between Clearwater for Youth, the Clearwater Little League and the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
