Barring a dramatic change of epic economic proportions, Saturday was the final time Barry Zito will wear an Oakland Athletics uniform.
Zito couldn't think, and didn't want to think, about what the future might hold for him as arguably the most prized free-agent pitcher on the market this winter.
In the coming months, he'll have some tough decisions to make about his future employment, although he can take comfort in knowing that wherever he goes, there will be a lot of money involved.
"It doesn't make sense to pick out a priority because I'm in this locker room right now," Zito said. "My preference is to be happy. Those are crazy decisions to make right now."
