Default A's get set for tough closing stretch

OAKLAND -- On Thursday, the A's received an off-day for a seventh straight week and they needed it as they head into what looks like their toughest stretch of the season.

Oakland will play 17 games over the next 17 days to finish the regular season, with 10 of those games coming against the Angels (seven) and White Sox. The Athletics are 0-3 against the defending World Series champion White Sox and 6-6 against the Angels this season.

During the last two seasons, September has been the A's kryptonite, going a combined 23-33. In 2004, the A's led the Angels in the American League West by two games on Aug. 30, but went 2-4 against their division rival during the last two series of the year and missed the playoffs by one game.

GO ANGELS

Well he's kind of had it in me ever since i accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly" and replace "dog" with "son".

Default

this is probably the most testing time for any team but especially for the A's because they seem to fall apart around this time and as u can see theyre goin into 2 series' that WILL make or break theyre season against the halo's and chisox. i think they just have to rest a couple key players for a few days then bring em in for the latter of the angels series so they are fresh for the chisox series with enough game time to have their eye in.
