The Yankees took a look at Pedro Martinez in the Dominican Republic and informed the former Cy Young Award winner they will pass on signing him, the New York Post reported.
Yankees scout Gordon Blakeley was in Santo Domingo with representatives from the Rangers, Rays, Angels and Brewers.
Earlier, the Chicago Tribune reported that no offer has been made to Martinez from the Cubs, and nothing is imminent.
