We have a major problem concerning our pitching. I think we overplayed our hand thinking Hughes will be the best thing since slice bread this season. So far between him and Kennedy they have been a major disappointment. The Yanks lose this first game of this series 8-2.

We got our ass whoop again, and our young guns aren't doing anything to help! Ugh!

Thumbs up

Yankees 7, Orioles 1

Andy Pettitte improved to 23-6 lifetime against the Orioles. (Nick Wass/AP)

Yankees:
Quote:
The Yankees' three-game losing streak came to an abrupt end thanks to Andy Pettitte, who retired his first 14 hitters and lasted seven innings to win his third straight start. Alex Rodriguez is day-to-day after straining his right quad.
Orioles:
Quote:
Steve Trachsel limited the Yankees to three runs, but the Orioles were held without a baserunner until the fifth inning and managed little thereafter in a loss that ended their win streak at three games and Luke Scott's hit streak at seven.
