Cathedral's farewell begins with a win
Yankees 3, Blue Jays 2
Both teams' lineups watch the national anthem on Tuesday. (Kathy Willens/AP)
Yankees:

On the final Opening Night in The House that Ruth Built, the Yankees edged past the resilient Blue Jays. Chien-Ming Wang was solid, Robinson Cano's grounder scored the go-ahead run, and Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera ended it.

Blue Jays:

The Blue Jays answered an early run with two of their own, but despite a very good outing from Roy Halladay, the Yankees pulled ahead to stay in the seventh inning during Tuesday's Opening Night. Halladay allowed three runs in seven innings.

My reaction as well....hopefully since its early in the season he can give us a decent game. Once Petite is back we may not need Moose as much. Wang, Petite, Hughes, Kennedy, Joba/Moose by the end of the season?

Yanks couldn't get runners to 2nd based until the 7th inning...thanks to A-Rod's 2 run shot. Other than that, the offense was non-existent. The Yanks fall 5-2.
