The Yankees are looking at free agent Kevin Mench as a possible fifth outfielder, a source told the Newark Star-Ledger.
Mench, 30, would most likely get a minor-league contract and give the Yankees a right-handed option among an outfield that includes lefties Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui and Bobby Abreu and switch-hitter Melky Cabrera.
The Rangers reportedly have interest in Mench as well.
