Well we lose the first game by the final score of 3-5. The Yanks are playing some sorry ass baseball.

Mike Mussina exited in the sixth after giving up five earned runs on eight hits to drop the opener of a day-night doubleheader. Bobby Abreu hit a solo shot in the fifth and Josh Phelps went yard in the eighth.

White Sox:

John Danks outdueled Mike Mussina to pick up his second straight win. Paul Konerko hit a solo homer in the fourth inning. Darin Erstad added a go-ahead RBI single in the fifth and A.J. Pierzynski's go-ahead solo homer set the tone for a three-run sixth inning.

Yankees 8, White Sox 1
Derek Jeter's RBI triple extended the Yankees' lead to 4-1 in the seventh inning. (Nam Y. Huh/AP)

Chien-Ming Wang recorded his second win and helped the Yankees pick up a split of a day-night doubleheader in Chicago. Wang scattered six hits over seven innings. Hideki Matsui had two hits and two RBIs and Jorge Posada and Melky Cabrera homered.

White Soxs:

Two unearned runs in the third inning forced Jose Conteras and the White Sox to battle from behind most of the night. Contreras worked into the seventh, striking out six, but continued his trend of alternating losses and wins. Rob Mackowiak drove in the lone run with a sixth-inning single.

Much better outing in the second game...Wang looked pretty solid and our bats finally got rolling. We need Arod and Abreu to continue to break out of their respective slumps to really get rolling.
I expect a good outing from De-Salvo today. I like this kid, he was quite impressive in Seattle last weekend.
