The Nationals ground out to end the game. 6-0 Mets final! Wright with 5 RBI's and Pelfry pitched 7 shut out innings, and Sanchez with his debut since 2006!

Mets 6, Nationals 0
David Wright hit a two-run homer in the first inning. (Kathy Willens/AP)
Mets:

On a day in which they honored Jackie Robinson by naming a Rotunda in Citi Field for him and wearing his No. 42, the Mets played a game that would have made him proud. David Wright had five RBIs, Jose Reyes had four hits and Mike Pelfrey pitched seven shutout innings.

Nationals:

Though they lost to the Mets on Tuesday, the entire Nationals team was able to honor Jackie Robinson by proudly wearing No. 42. Odalis Perez pitched a solid six innings, only allowing a first-inning homer, but the Washington bats couldn't get anything going against Mike Pelfrey.

Homers come in threes for Mets
Mets 5, Nationals 2
Ryan Church (left) and Carlos Beltran both went deep Wednesday. (Kathy Willens/AP)
Mets:

It appears the Mets' homer drought has just about come to an end. John Maine fought off some early tough spots to pitch 6 2/3 solid innings, and he was backed by three big homers from Ryan Church, Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran, as the Mets won their second straight game.

Nationals:
Quote:

Washington's offense has struggled lately, but it did take an early lead on New York, highlighted by Austin Kearns' first homer. However, Matt Chico was victimized by three homers in five innings, and the Nationals' bats quieted down while the Mets won their second straight.
