Default Karl Ehrhardt, Original Mets Sign Man, Dead at 83

According to the New York Times, Karl Ehrhardt passed away this past Tuesday at the age of 83. He was famous for "raising block-lettered signs from his box seat behind third base at Shea" through many of the franchise's years.

When the Miracle Mets of 1969 won the World Series, Ehrhardt held up a sign that read, "There Are No Words."

My favorite line from the story..."Whenever outfielder José Cardenal struck out, the sign said, “Jose, Can You See?”"
