The Mets avoided arbitration with outfielder Ryan Church today when the two sides agreed on a one-year worth $2 million. Church had asked for $2.45 million; the Mets had initially countered with $1.75 million. That leaves Oliver Perez as the only arbitration-eligible player yet to settle with the Mets. They aren't very close, either. Perez has requested $6.5 million and the Mets have offered $4.725 million.
Take care of Perez!

Glad to see the deal done because I believe Church will fit in just fine with the Mets and be a huge impact when it comes down to coming through at the bottom of that stacked line-up.
And as for Perez, the Mets won't let him go and get a deal signed with him soon.
