It looks and sounds like the New York Mets have made free-agent David Eckstein their number one target for second base.
The
Daily News reports the Mets flew Eckstein to New York this past week and wined and "dined him." They also report Eckstein is looking for a four-year, $36 million deal (similar to the Julio Lugo deal last year), and that could be a stumbling block.
