This should be a good series. I think the Dodgers will pull this one off though!

Game 2 I think will probably be one of the more interesting matchups at the series.

Not will Myers battle it out but I'll be able to see it in person.

Yup. i'm one of the lucky few that got tickets. They're really selling like hotcakes!

Just got back. Myers was fantastic putting in 5 solid innings! Plus he went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs! Shane-O had 4 RBIs and a Game Saving Catch in the 8th inning. Manny hit a 3-run blast (followed by 46,000+ roaring 'Manny Sucks!'), and the Phils had 2 4run innings. The crowd, in most of the 9th, was using the rally cry 'Beat (or Sweep depending on the speaker) LA!' Lidge got his 45th save in a row and the Phils won 8-5.

Definitely an exciting game! Game 3 will definitely be tenser, but the Phils have a vigorous 2 game to none lead over the Dodgers!

Game 1

Phillies 3, Dodgers 2

Phillies:

In their matchups at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies had not lost to the Dodgers at home this season, and they kept it that way after rallying during a three-run sixth behind two homers by Chase Utley and Pat Burrell to take Game 1 of the NLCS from Los Angeles.

Game 2

Phillies 8, Dodgers 5

Manager Charlie Manuel (left) and Shane Victorino shake hands after beating L.A. (MLB.com)

Phillies:
Quote:
If L.A. thought it had to be worried about Brett Myers on the mound, well, it should have been concerned about his bat; that's where he did his most damage. Along with Shane Victorino's four RBIs, the righty drove in three runs to give the Phils a 2-0 edge over the Dodgers in the NLCS.

The Dodgers got a lot of catching up to do, because the Phillies are on fire.

Ugh.

Billingsley sold me out!

I can see this turning into a sweep. The Dodgers look shaky out there, and the Phillies look very impressive on the whole. Brett Myers and his four hits in 59 regular season at-bats should have been sat down with ease, but he was given great pitches to his... I almost vomitted during this game.

As I have said before, Manny is the leader and will be the leader of evry team he goes to. As you have seen, Manny is by far, the best two strike hitter in baseball, and you can't pitch to him with out worrying about the fact that he can go long where ever you pitch him. With Game three in LA and the Phillies up two nothing, I have a feeling it will come down to game seven, and the Dodgers will win it. As much as I believe that the Phillies have a better line-up, Ryan Howard, the best power hitter in baseball has not done anything this series, or really the post-season. Without Howard contributing, the Dodgers have a big ada=vantage with Manny. The Dodgers need Ethier hitting second, but that is not where he hits best. It will work itself out.
