Come on people lets get here and get a discussion going. Whos going to win/who will be the standout?
Personally, im a little pissed off that worthy players got left out, and guys like Jeter and Papi get in every year. What do you guys think of this?

Well he's kind of had it in me ever since i accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly" and replace "dog" with "son".

Yeah, it's what I basically said in the Snubs thread.
It gets annoying that you know the All-Star Game is based on popularity rather than playing ability. But eventually you get accustomed to it considering a good portion of the fans that vote are just casual fans who pay attention to the big names and don't look at the underlying players that are having much better seasons.

I want the NL to win but the AL has i think 6 relievers so they may be better suited to pitching one inning. That said I think the NL win finally win one. Also predicting Jason Varitek to strikeout everytime he bats. Being a captain of your team doesn't help you not suck. I like Hanley Ramirez to do it all in the game-hit, steal, play defense. He'll be the MVP and Kerry Wood will get the win. Thus giving the Cubs home-field in the World Series

Wood also is not going to be playing in the AS Game.
So both Soriano and Wood will not be playing for the Cubs.
I guess that is ok when we still have 5 others representing.

The Milwaukee Brewers' Ben Sheets and Cleveland Indians' Cliff Lee were chosen Monday for their first All-Star Game starts.
The right-handed Sheets, 10-3 with a 2.85 ERA, anchors a rotation that includes newly added CC Sabathia, who won his second game in as many starts with the Brewers on Sunday since being acquired in a trade with the Indians.
Lee has picked up where 2007 AL Cy Young Award winner Sabathia left off. The left-handed Lee, who leads the AL in victories at 12-2 and is second with a 2.31 ERA, has persevered after having to earn a spot in the Cleveland rotation during spring training.
"I'd like to thank Terry Francona for giving me the opportunity to start the game," Lee said of the Red Sox manager. "It's just an honor to be here, to start the game is icing on the cake."
When asked if he was nervous about starting for the NL team on Tuesday night, Sheets said he was ready.
"I was nervous about this interview, moreso than this game," Sheets said, referring to Monday's news conference.
