Default "sanjaya-ize" the mlb all-star game

Okay, here's what's wrong with major league baseball's all-star game. All the starters are determined by fan voting (except pitchers and NL DH). So, it's basically a popularity contest. How else could Pedroia be getting more votes than Kinsler? We've seen some even worse examples over the years. MLB however, has said it is fine. So, we need to send them a message that this won't work. How? Same way Votefortheworst.com sends a similar message to shows like American Idol. We need to vote for the worst possible players at each position. Thus, if enough people do this, MLB will see just how bad this style is. Now, before I state which players to vote for, let me tell you what I propose- I would support a solution which would give fans 50% voting, and then splitting the other 50% between media, managers, and possibly even players on teams. (Although of course, with managers and players, we'd have to institute a rule saying they can't pick someone on their team.) Now, here's who to vote for to "Sanjaya-ize" the MLB all-star game:
AL:
1B Richie Sexson
2B Asdrubal Cabrera
SS Tony Pena
3B Mike Lamb
OF Adam Jones, Nick Swisher, Jose Guillen
C Kenji Jojhima
DH Jose Vidro
NL:
1B Adam LaRoche
2B Richie Weeks
SS Khalil Greene
3B Jose Bautista
OF Michael Bourn, Scott Hairston, Autin Kearns
C Josh Bard

Please vote for these players as many times as you gan, just to spite MLB. Man, this is going to be fun! And, feel free to comment here if you so desire.

Well, if we do that we will short change all the players who deserve it. Im not totally sure, but dont the players/coaches get to vote some players? someone clear that up for me. I do agree, kinsler is a much better player this year than pedroia.

I've had this argument before, but you really can't argue with the fact that it's an exhibition for the fans. They choose who they want to see, that's fine. All that needs to be changed is the fact that the game determines home field for the World Series.

There's always snubs, but a lot of players get selected by managers if they deserve it anyhow.

Here's the problem as I see it. If it's the "fans" game then fine. But don't make it "count."

Determining who gets home field advantage by members of different clubs is an absurd idea. If they want to do that then let the writers vote. Otherwise we get stuck with Bonds (not this year) in left field and the teams that have the largest following, like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Dodgers get players in who may not deserve to get in over other teams who have great players. I'll bet few of you knew much about Grady Sizemore until last year. This happens in all of the smaller markets.

This was FOX's idea for ratings, and I for one don't like it. Let's go back to the way it was and have alternating years to give each league a fair chance in the World Series.
