You know, I don't care for the fact that the Cardinals now seem to be a haven for former juicers. Not trying to stir the pot, but if you check LaRussa players all the way back to his Oakland days there is a pattern. Maybe his philosophy is: "If you ain't cheating you ain't trying".

Call me stupidly crazy but I'd still take Bonds on the Cards to protect Pujols.. even though he'd bring all the baggage not needed.. were the home of the Mitchell Report right now.. might aswell bring him in.. That .480 OBP would look fabulous in our lineup.. even the .565 SLG is better than anyone in our lineup and about the same as Pujols..

Bonds on the Rays is easily a good option. They pick him up for probably a cheap price. Bring a crowd to see him play and he would be a good DH there.

We'll bring up Phelps if anything. Or a minor leaguer

Default Bonds in Tampa?

If Bonds signs in Tampa, or anywhere in the AL for that matter, he'll be outstanding. Why wouldn't he be? The only downside would be the circus but now that "The Chase" is over, how much attention would he receive? If this happens, and he is a DH for 120+ games, he'll have a line like .290, 30 HR, 110 RBI. Laugh if you must but you heard it here first.

I wouldn't wish Barry on any team's fans. He would cause a distraction even though the HR thing is not in play any longer. And any stats he would put up would be offset by his individual attitude of me first the rest of you second.

At this point, what with the opening of the file on Bonds' grand jury testimony, I highly doubt we will ever see Bonds play another game with a major league ball club. He's just too much of a liability - he is fairly likely to be locked up or put under house arrest or something of the like... he won't be able to make it onto the field.
