Well since I didn't see this earlier. MLB.com has reported that Atlanta traded Edgar Renteria to Detroit for two prospects. Makes sense for Atlanta and Detroit got a good SS in return.

That pretty much makes Casey a free agent for good then. Guillen will start at first base next season.

Btw the two prospects were Jair Jurrjens and Gorkys Hernandez, both in which were two of the top 4 tigers prospects. This deal works out well for both teams but renteria wasn't doing to well in the AL 2 years ago. The deal could backfire on the tigers in the longrun.

I like the trade for both the twins and d-rays. D-rays get some more young pitching and the Twins get the hitter they've needed and replace hunter. Barrlet is a decent SS but helps the D-rays out (i don't even know who their SS is)
