I much rather see Mattingly in the Hall. His body of work was impressive. He has comparable stats to Kirby Puckett and he did this in less years.
His downfall was his back injury sustained in 1988 or 89 not sure when it happened. Just one playoff appearance but he led the team on his back. He was by far the best player in a short period of time (1984-1987).... He was amazing and had the sweetest left handed swing I've ever seen. Perfect approach for the Stadium.

I agree with yuo there I don't think Williams is HOF but a very good player in his prime. I just think that all of the attention and differances are just a bit much, especially to be turning down offers.
I couldn't agree with you more there, Mattingly deserves to be in the hall, he was one of the more clutch guys in that line up and one Yankee I wanted to see get a ring. BUt I thought his mustache was the downfall?...J/K lol
