Default most overrated and underrated baseball players

Jayson Stark has a book coming out in late May called The Stark Truth: The Most Overrated and Underrated Players in Baseball History. I'm personally a huge fan of his writing so I thought I'd let anyone who didn't know that you can preorder it on Amazon.com.

Cal Ripken has to be one of my most overrated. Ok he played a gazillion games in a row but other than that what else did he do?

i no this will start a HUGE argument again but the most overated i think is A-Rod...i no he is amazing but he is still overrated...expecially on a team that doesn't need him...and i don't no about any of ubut 1/4 billion dollars in 10 years sounds like quite a bit of money

I tend to see and agree with Cal being overrated. He is really only honored and remembered for his consecutive game playing streak.

My point exactly, I think Jeter is a much better player than Ripken ever was. Ok Jeters has shitty range up the middle but he has a great arm. Jetes also has a better bat and dare I say more power than Cal.

I think you're all touched in the head if you think Cal is overrated.

You moron Yankee fans always overrate your players.

Jeter was and never will be better than Cal.

If you are going to call Cal overrated for saying that the only thing he did was play in a bunch of consecutive games then Lou Gehrig is overrated too. Their stats are comparable with Ripken playing only 4 more years than Gehrig. Do you think Gehrig is overrated?
