Agreed. John Patterson is underrated, Jose Lopez and Yuniesky Betancourt for the M's also. I think Bonds and Schmidt are a little overrated at this point. I heard a guy on ESPN saying that Bonds would hit 35 homers this year, i don't think i've laughed that hard in quite a while.

I think Schmit is too, he hasn't been himself in a while now.

Also for the money he gets a guy like Jeff Weaver is overatted, he just keeps getting paid.

i never thought of him. thats a good point though. everyone gets overpaid nowadays though, the Gil Meche deal just made that painfully apparent.

A lot are overpaid, when yuo look at like the money JD Drew (example) gets you can somewhat see what teams may see. For Jeff Weaver I just have no idea at all what warrants that money.

What do yuo think about Harang? Think he's legit?

Won the NL strikeout crown last year, i'd say hes legit. i think part of it is that cinncinati isnt as big a baseball market as it used to be and the reds are shadowed with the reemergence of the Bengals so they and their players don't get the limelight that they might've 20-30 years ago in cincy or if they were in new york, boston, or la.

I know he did but his past isn't as dominate as last year and it was a contract year for him as well last year. I just wasn't sure if last year was his "Adrian Beltre" year and what you may have thought.

Oh and add Adrian to that list too LOL

Its easier for a hitter to go from homer king to bum than it is for a pitcher to go from strikeout king though. IMO its a lot harder to hit a ball 400+ feet than it is for someone to get a ball past the guy at the plate.

True, but the dips from '04 to '05 for Beltre are pretty big, almost to the point where I am not suprised steroids have not been brought into his conversations.

Now I like VLad a lot too but I think he gets a bit too much hype too IMO.

i don't think he does. Hes got a cannon in the field and hes like Manny in the sense that you can pencil in 35 and 120 every year. too bad the expos/nationals didn't keep him when they had the chance too though.

Travis Hafner is underrated too. The guy can rake and he never gets any credit, he nearly broke the single season record for grand slams last year (would've if not for getting hurt) and we barely heard anything about him!
