I heard today that Directv is trying to make a deal with MLB to carry the Extra Innings live game package EXCLUSIVELY. If this happens, we will be forced to have Directv to watch our favorite teams.

I don't want Directv and I don't intend to have Directv but I want to watch my Cardinals. No company should have exclusive rights to baseball. That's UNAMERICAN!

I've already called MLB and they said that they would be glad to hear my opinion, but so far there was no deal made.

What do you think?

Yeah I just buy it from the computer anyways. That way I can watch the games anywhere because I always have my laptop with me and it's only $10 a month

Yeah, that's an option -- but do you really want to watch all your games that way? I like to sack out on the couch with a cold beverage of my choice and watch the games on my big screen. That's the only way to go in my opinion.

I tried the computer way last year during a free trial. Not the same at all...

yea i think this is crazy. i know a lot of people have been complaining and hopefully it will help but the mlb is gonna make a lot of money with this deal. unfortunately they aren't realizing its going to hurt them in the long run.

I've had the Extra Innings package two years running, and I live in a condo where they don't allow you to have a satellite dish, so my wife and I would be screwed.

We're both well out of the viewing area of our favorite teams here in Santa Barbara, CA, well south of San Francisco and FAR west of Baltimore.

i just do it on my lap top then sign in on my playstaion 3 (thats right, PS3) and watch it HD on the television

I am noit real happy about this deal either. I have had the package on Dish network since it was available. Now their thought is to tell me that I can't have it unless I go to Directv . I am happy with Dish, and have no intention on switching. I guess, if I have to, I'll go with the computer package if need be to follow my Stros while living up here in Cardinal country.
