The Tigers' September awakening continued tonight in their first game following the Sunday playoff clincher in Kansas City. But the status of cleanup hitter Magglio Ordonez was left in doubt.
A poised-and-ready Blue Jays club battled Jeremy Bonderman for six innings, but came away with only one run off the Tiger starter as Detroit held on for a 4-3 victory at Comerica Park. Bonderman (14-8), allowed three hits while walking three and striking out four. Placido Polanco, in just his second game since his return from a six-week stay on the disabled list, drove in three runs.
