That doesn't mean he's the best fielding AL SS. He isn't, and I'm a huge Jeter fan don't get me wrong. He has some pretty bad range to his left. How many times have you heard "Groundball by the diving Jeter, up the middle for a basehit"? Nomar, Vizquel were way better than him, and let's not talk about A-Rod's play at SS. He was superior to all of them.

He makes some of the most amazing throws and is the best at the jump throws he's famous for. The catch and throw to peg Giambi, or the dive into the stands. It's all great but he is very limited to his range. Look at another teams SS and you'll see the range Jeter lacks, but then you'll also see intangibles that only Jeter has.

I'll give you Vizquel, but then only the Wizzard was ever better than him, but not Noarm.

hehehe.... Still I despise the Sox but I knew Nomar was a better fielder than Jeet's. Anyways thats my Yankee Captain so theres no other SS I rather have on this team. I wouldn't trade him for anyone!

i believe that although nomar was better defensively jeter was better with the bat. i dont like to admit it but its true. jeter's much more disciplined whereas nomar is a first pitch hitter and doesent have the abilty to make those timely hits....well not anymore!
