To: Major League Baseball
Attn: Bud Selig

From: REAL baseball fans (the ones who buy tickets and fill the seats YEAR after YEAR because they love the game).

Major League Baseball has to stop disrespecting the sanctity of baseball as our Nation’s Pastime. The most important thing is not how many homeruns were hit in one year - but that the records are authentic. This petition goes out to all of the REAL baseball fans that know the truth about the single season homerun record. IT BELONGS TO ROGER MARIS. It is disappointing that baseball legend Roger Maris’ single season homerun record of 61 in 1961 has been destroyed by a generation of steroid-using sluggers who have compromised the integrity of the game because of their greed and lust for money and fame. We, the fans, cannot let Major League Baseball stand by any longer and not stand up for the storied and esteemed legacy of baseball’s heroes.

We are asking Major League Baseball to place an asterisk next to the names of Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds indicating that their achievements were a direct result of the use of steroids. And acknowledge Roger Maris as the single season homerun leader.

We are asking you, the real fans, to get involved and sign this petition. Do not be passive. Be a passionate fan and fight to preserve our legacy. Baseball should be forced to acknowledge the truth and GIVE ROGER MARIS BACK HIS RECORD!

Default Fish Stripes :: Series Fourteen: Marlins at Dodgers

The weekend series was so disappointing that we won't even get into it here. Unfortunately for us, it doesn't get any easier as the mascot interview series nearly falls apart for the first time with this Dodgers series. Sure, we moaned and complained earlier in the year that we weren't particularly fond of some of the opponents' mascots (like the Rockies' Dinger). But with the Dodgers, it's different. For example, on just about every team's website there's information about the team's masco...
