Assistant GM Joe Izzo Joins Bluefish

The Bridgeport Bluefish announced today that Joe Izzo has been hired as the new Assistant General Manager. Joe has worked with current Bluefish General Manager Todd Marlin at both the Nashua Pride and Worcester Tornadoes.

Izzo began his baseball career with the Nashua Pride in 2003 as the Merchandise Manager before stepping into the Director of Operations position in 2004. He then took on the role of a Sponsorship Sales Associate in 2005 for the Frederick Keys, Class Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, before re-joining Marlin at the Worcester Tornadoes in 2006. During that season Joe was Assistant General Manager of Sales and Marketing.

"I am really excited to join the Bluefish," said Izzo. "I am looking forward to working with the front office staff to spread the word about the exciting things that will be taking place at Harbor Yard in 2008."

Izzo graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1996 with a B.S. in Business Administration. Upon his graduation Izzo has served in various sales and marketing positions to help strengthen his business background. He looks forward to hosting the thousands of families from Southern Connecticut (and beyond) at the ballpark as they enjoy an evening of entertainment in a safe and clean environment at an affordable price.

"Joe is going to bring valuable experience from his time in other markets that will benefit not only the Bluefish, but the entire Bridgeport community," said Marlin, General Manager of the Bridgeport Bluefish.

The Bridgeport Bluefish Professional Baseball Club, a charter team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, plays its home games at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, located off Exit 27 of I-95 on the corner of Broad Street and South Frontage Road in Bridgeport. 2008 season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 203-345-4800.
