The Mississippi Braves announce that Atlanta Braves' third baseman Chipper Jones is scheduled to make a rehab appearance with the Mississippi Braves on Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12.
Jones was placed on the 15-day disabled list by Atlanta on July 30 with a strained left oblique. Before his injury, Jones was the hottest man in the Braves' lineup in July. He had a batting average of .500 with seven doubles, one triple, seven homers, 20 RBI, and 19 runs scored through only 16 games in July.
Jones is scheduled to play for the Mississippi Braves on Friday and Saturday. Jones' status is subject to change.

The Lookouts defeated the Jacksonville Suns tonight, 3-1. With the win, the Lookouts took this five game series from the South Division leading Suns, three games to two. Chattanooga pitching sensation Homer Bailey was once again sharp as he threw 5.2 innings and allowed one run on one hit, while striking out five. Bailey, however did not factor into the decision.
Jacksonville got the offense going with a run in the first. The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fourth. In the Lookouts half of the fourth, Joey Votto led off with a double to center field. Rick Asadoorian picked Votto up from second with a RBI single. The game was tied at one until the bottom of the seventh when the Lookouts broke the tie with two runs. Anderson Machado led off with a walk and was advanced to third on a double by Miguel Perez. After a quick out, Noochie Varner stepped to the plate and stroked a two run single up the middle to give the Looks the lead and ultimately the victory.
Lookouts' reliever Carlos Alvarado earned the win in relief after tossing 1.1 innings. He allowed only one hit while striking out two. Chattanooga newcomer Chad Bentz tossed a perfect 1.1 innings. David Shafer earned his 26th save of the season after facing two batters in the ninth.
The Lookouts will begin a five game series with the Tennessee Smokies tomorrow night at BellSouth Park. Josh Hall (7-4) will take the mound for Chattanooga for a 7:15 scheduled first pitch. Gates open at 5:30.
MOBILE, AL Huntsville sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning Tuesday, and beat the BayBears 5-2. Three of the four runs in the inning were unearned to starter Dirk Hayhurst, as shortstop Juan Ciriaco made a throwing error in the inning. Ozzie Chavez had a two-run single, scoring Huntsville's Jeff Eure and Callix Crabbe. The BayBears two runs came on a two run single by Luis Cruz in the sixth inning.
Huntsville's fifth run came on Manny Parra?s first home run this year. The BayBear starter Hayhurst (3-4) went five innings, allowing six hits and striking out three. Parra (1-0) was the winning pitcher, throwing five innings, allowing two runs on four BayBear hits. Joe Valentine picked up his fourth save, pitching the eighth and ninth innings.

MONTGOMERY - Dan Smith struck out 12 batters, two in each of his six innings, as the Mississippi Braves (20-25, 51-63) took the rubber match of a five-game series against the host Montgomery Biscuits (23-22, 59-55), 6-3.
Each of the 20 meetings between the two teams this season has been decided by three runs or less., though the edge had gone lopsidedly to the Biscuits before this series. Mississippi had won only two of the previous 15 games before winning three of five at Riverwalk Stadium.
Brandon Jones crushed a two-run homer off of Montgomery starter Mitch Talbot (1-3) in the fourth inning to provide the game's first score, the seventh home run of the season for the Mississippi rightfielder
Talbot would allow a Mike Rozema RBI groundout in the next frame, shutting the Braves down otherwise. The Biscuits righthander fanned 11 Mississippi batsmen in seven strong innings of work, though it would not be enough.
Montgomery reached Smith (3-6) for just one run in his six innings; it came on a wild pitch in the fifth, plating Evan Longoria.
Longoria drove home Patrick Breen with a sacrifice fly in the seventh to bring the Biscuits within 3-2, but the Braves answered right back with three runs in the top of the eighth to put the game away.
Mississippi reliever Sean White pitched the final three innings to notch his first save of the season.
The Biscuits now head out on the road for a five-game series at Mobile against the BayBears beginning Wednesday night at 7:05. Montgomery righthander Jeff Niemann (2-4, 3.12) will take the mound at Hank Aaron Stadium, opposing Mobile righthander Mike Ekstrom (0-5, 4.76).
