Beavers' eighth homestand features giveaways

PORTLAND, Ore. - After a three-day break for the Triple-A All-Star Game, the Portland Beavers return to PGE Park for a four-game homestand this Thursday, featuring several great giveaways and an appearance by Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants.

Highlighting the homestand is special Padres Mr. Potato Head giveaway, presented by Toyota. The first 2,000 kids ages 14 and under through the gates to Saturday night's game will receive the collectible.

Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants will be at PGE Park as part of American Family Insurance Kids Sunday on July 16. The popular cartoon character will be on hand to pose for pictures and sign autographs throughout the game. SpongeBob will also be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch on Sunday. As with all Kids Sundays, youngsters are invited to runs the bases after the game.

Thursday, July 13 MILLER LITE THURSDAY/KARAOKE NIGHT - Beavers vs. Tacoma - 7:05 p.m. The popular Thursday night tradition continues with specials being offered for Miller Lite Thursday presented by Jammin' 95.5. It's also Karaoke Night, featuring themed promotions and great prizes being awarded to the best singers. Thursday's game will also be broadcast regionally on Fox Sports Northwest, with veteran broadcaster Rich Burk doing the television play-by-play.

Friday, July 14 FAMILY FRIDAY/PRE-GAME ALL-FAITH CONCERT - Beavers vs. Tacoma - 7:05 p.m. The Beavers host FOX 12 and PDX 49 Family Friday presented by Radio Disney. Clowns and face-painters will be roaming the concourse to entertain fans and several families will be selected to play catch on the field before the game. Gates will open 5:30 p.m. for a special pre-game all-faith concert, featuring a performance by Tray Michaels from 5:45 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. in the Widmer Garden.

Saturday, July 15 FRED MEYER RETRO SATURDAY/MR. POTATO HEAD GIVEAWAY/CLASSIC ROCK NIGHT - Beavers vs. Tacoma - 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 kids through the gates will receive a free Padres Mr. Potato Head doll, courtesy of Toyota. Every home Saturday this season, the Beavers will be wearing special throwback uniforms from the 1956 season for Fred Meyer Retro Saturdays presented by KGON 92.3. Each Saturday Beavers game, one lucky fan will win one of the throwback jerseys, and they will get to take the jersey home on the last Saturday, August 26. It is also Classic Rock Night presented by KGON, with special classic-rock themed promotions and giveaways all night.

Sunday, July 16 AMERICAN FAMILY INSURANCE KIDS SUNDAY/SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS DAY - Beavers vs. Tacoma - 2:05 p.m. As part of American Family Insurance Kids Sunday presented by Soft Rock K103, players will be in the Radio Disney Fun Zone before the game signing autographs and several kids will be selected to play catch on the field. All kids and dads are also invited to run the bases after the game. Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants will be on hand to pose for pictures and sign autographs throughout the game. SpongeBob will also be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
