Last pitch? What last pitch?
Brad Radke insisted he is not getting an early jump on his retirement. The veteran right-hander, who plans to retire after the 2006 season, said he intends to pitch again this season. He just doesn't know when.
"People have been saying I've thrown my last pitch," Radke said after the Twins' 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday at the Metrodome. "That's not the case. I have no plans to shut down."
Radke is struggling with a torn labrum in his right shoulder, an injury he said has been bothering him for three months. Manager Ron Gardenhire scratched him from his scheduled start Saturday in New York against the Yankees.
Gardenhire and Radke remain unsure if and when he will return to the rotation.
