Ex-Brewer Gantner lands coaching job
Former Milwaukee Brewers star Jim Gantner has been hired as manager of the Wisconsin Woodchucks, a college wood bat summer team.
Gantner, 53, played for the Brewers from 1976-'92. The second baseman is among the Brewers career leaders in numerous stat categories including hits (1,696), runs (726), doubles (262), and RBI (568).
The Woodchucks are part of the Northwoods League, which features players from across the country.
