Kuroda looks ridiculously hittable tonight - he has to settle down... he's leaving everything out over the middle of the plate. Ugh. Luckily, the Pirates offense seems to be borderline incompetent - otherwise, the Dodgers could be down by three-plus runs right now.

Saito made me a sad man tonight... very, very sad.
This offense really needs to do better with runners on - they left upwards of four or five men in scoring position... this cannot continue. The pitching, aside from Saito, was more than solid, so no real complaints there.

What a tremendous effort on all parts for the Dodgers!
Kemp and Ethier should form the foundation of a great outfield for the next five or so years - tonight they proed how talented they really are. DeWitt and Furcal also consider to play (likely) above themselves. Though, needless to say, that is much appreciated.

dude where are the dodger fans on this site. I have a couple of Questions. Is penny going to pitch well tonight? he is not going against peavy so he should. was that a setback for Saito or is it time to swich to broxton I had high hopes for this season but we are not running on all cylinders right now. Andruw needs to get going.

I'm sure Brad Penny will be fine - let's not forget that the Padres also have a solid, underrated offense. The Pirates offense is not nearly as strong as their's.
I'm, personally, chalking Saito's blown save up as a setback - in his four prior appearances he did not allow a single baserunner, striking out four. Broxton has the tools to close, but I love the combination of Broxton-Saito far too much for it to dissolve anytime soon.
I feel that the team will start to hit its stride soon. They've run into Peavy, Lincecum, Cain, and a few other brilliant pitchers thus far, and have had injuries and minor slumps throughout. Once Martin hits his stride, the offense will be fine - and Andruw Jones, if he can hit .250 plus the rest of the way, will make it even better.

Penny has looked good thus far, and the offense is clicking quite well - let's hope they can keep this up.

Solid game caps off a solid series.
The pitching was tremendous last night, allowing only nine baserunners and one unearned run. The hitting was terrific, once more, firing on all cylinders. The fielding, though, is starting to be an issue - Furcal already has four errors, and Garciaparra made one in his debut last night... this must be remedied.
