Now that's a great way to start the season! A 5-0 victory against the Giants - what more could I ask for?!
Brad Penny was brilliant, giving up only four hits in 6.2 IP, and the bullpen held the Giants to two baserunners the rest of the way - hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
Also, of interest, it was good to see Kent and Saito looking healthy and productive, playing as good as could be expected at this or any point in the season.
And, finally, a great debut by Blake Dewitt - 1-2, with a run scored, and two walks.

This is Lowe's last season under his current contract - I'm guessing that he's going to have a huge season, with somewhere around 16 wins... the first of which will come today.
I feel sort of bad for Lincecum and Cain; they may be the best young duo in baseball, but they have a porous defense behind them, and a pathetic offense supporting them - they'll struggle to reach double-digit victories.

Nothing doing through two - we've got a nice pitcher's duel on our hands, though. Lowe and Cain both look quite strong.
On a side note, I'm pretty upset that Pierre is in the line-up tonight - particularly at the expense of Matt Kemp, who could be the best pure hitter in the Dodgers' line-up... ugh. Colletti needs to jettison him - and fast.

Top of the seventh now - both starters worked their ways out of some tight spots; Lowe's still going strong, though. I'm glad to see his sinker working, what with two double plays already.
Jones looks great, working out the count tonight, and I'm glad to see Dewitt with three walks through a game and a half. Hopefully the boys in blue can pull this one out.

Troncoso needs to come through here...if he can get out of this inning 2-0 is still salvagable.

Ugh - very disappointing appearance from Joe Beimel. I'm glad Troncoso was able to pick up the pieces with only three pitches. Broxton looked good in the eighth, and Saito looked even better, just now striking out the side in the ninth.
I'm excited by Furcal's play thus far, he has three RBI on the year, and has looked dynamite in the field. On a sour note, though, I can't help but feel that starting Pierre was a mistake - this is an issue that could eventually hurt team chemistry, as Pierre seems to be a crybaby.

Pierre may hurt the chemistry a little but its still going to be a solid team and definetly in the mix in the West. And as I speak you guys pull off the win in the ninth. Congrats! (plus it makes my sweep of the series call that much closer) lol
