VERO BEACH, Fla. -- However much the Dodgers said Clayton Kershaw would be moved along slowly, they could resist only so much.
The day that started with Manager Joe Torre maintaining that the 19-year-old left hander wasn't contending for a spot in the rotation ended with him revealing that the organization's top prospect would spend the remainder of the spring in big-league camp. The decision to move up Kershaw from minor league camp, Torre said, was made before Kershaw threw only 10 pitches in a 1-2-3 fourth inning in the Dodgers' 4-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday in front of 9,293 fans, the largest crowd to ever see a game at Holman Stadium.
