Kuroda looked pretty solid today.

He touched 92-93 a few times, worked pretty quickly, and threw fourteen of twenty one pitches for strikes. Plus, he only allowed one baserunner in two innings of work.

I went to the game and he looked good. Major-league ready, took care of business......pitchers should be ahead of the hitters at this point anyway. He bounced between 92 and breaking stuff at 84--according to Mickey Mouse's radar gun.

What did you think of his wind-up? Do you think this is something that will be a liability with runners on?

Personally, it looked to be a rather slight 'hesitation,' particularly in contrast with other Japanese pitchers like Nomo and Okajima... but, a second opinion would be great.

I don't think it will be a hindrance initially, because he is new. After a team sees him a few times and gets it down, then it might cause problems. Otsuka, formerly of the Rangers, and Hoffman have hesitations, but I don't know if it causes teams to run wild on them. I haven't heard that it does for either...so I don't know.
