Default Who is the best Dodger Pitcher This Season?

IMO I have to say Saito is the best thing to happen to this pitching staff since Eric Gagne. It is fitting that he replaced one of th greatest relievers of all time.

While Saito has been one of the best closers this season. Broxton has been pretty good too at set-up. And Penny has been lights out.

In terms of starters definitely Penny who has been the ace and stopper of the team all year. For relivers Saito is definitely the number one guy! He's had an amazing year and I look forward to watching his fist pump for the up coming year!

Saito is my favorite pitcher for sure. His windup and pitch is great to watch, so mechanical and focused.

Broxton has the best stuff on the staff. Penny has the best stuff of any starter. Lowe has been consistent and received zero run support. Who knows about Kuroda. Saito has gotten good results, but with know-how over stuff.

I'm going to have to go with Chad Billingsley.

Upon entering the rotation last season Billingsley was all but lights-out - he was 8-5 with an ERA of 3.38, 1.36 WHIP, and nearly a strikeout per inning. Moreover, in September he was nasty with an ERA of 2.59. As the season progressed he got better and better, and I expect much of the same in 2008.

I cannot choose Saito for this for one reason - his age. He has been dominant in his time here, but at 38 I feel as if he may begin to decline significantly. Plus, I just feel that a very good starter is always better than a very good closer.
