Angles Josh Hamilton headed to Angels

Quote:
Josh Hamilton is going from the Texas Rangers to the rival Los Angeles Angels.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels confirmed Thursday that Hamilton agreed to a contract with the Angels. Multiple sources have confirmed to ESPN that the deal is worth $125 million over five years.

Texas had hoped to re-sign Hamilton, the 2010 AL Most Valuable Player. Speaking Thursday after a Rangers' holiday luncheon, Daniels was asked whether Hamilton had agreed with the Angels.

Daniels said "that's accurate" and that he had just been informed by Hamilton's agent, Mike Moye.

Hamilton joins a team that spent big last offseason to add first baseman Albert Pujols for $240 million and pitcher C.J. Wilson for $77.5 million. Yet, the Angels disappointed and failed to make the playoffs.

Sounds like Torii Hunter is a little upset. I don't blame.

Yeah, I think deep down inside Torii still wishes he had a big A with a halo on his head. He is definitely displeased with the Angles ownership, that's for sure.

Out of all the teams.. the Angels were not one of the one's I though Hamilton was going to sign with..

Me too, I can see why Torri's upset.. kinda ripped him.

After Greinke signed with the Dodgers I had a feeling Hamilton would be in the Angels radar. Especially since the Dodgers were making a lot of noise and our owner loves to compete. He wants the LA spotlight on the Angels.

Good point.. but no team could afford Hamilton.. well they probably could, but nobody would be willing to dish out that kind of money. (Even the dodgers).. so it's surprising to see the Angels went after him.. but oh well.

He will make a really nice addition in their line up. Hammy will add more power to their line up, and more runs.. both things they need.
