The Halos Hopefuls are intrigued by a number of big names and the possibility of them wearing an Angels uniform, while also wishing to extend best wishes to some old pals.

Do you think that the Angels might try to get a power third baseman like they had with Troy Glaus, or will they continue to depend on Dallas McPherson, who hasn't been healthy enough to play one full season since his call to the Majors?

McPherson will remain a part of the equation as long as he's a part of the organization, but offensive help is the team's No. 1 priority this offseason, and both corner infield spots will be targeted. Hindering the Angels' young prospects at third base is the availability of two prime candidates in Alex Rodriguez and Aramis Ramirez.

Rodriguez has said he wants to stay in New York, and the Yankees may not be interested in moving the two-time AL MVP.

The Angels had some interest in Ramirez at the trading deadline, and the 28-year-old would solve the club's problems at the position, but he's looking to sign an extension to remain with the Cubs. Joe Crede's name has also been tossed about in a possible swap for Chone Figgins.

If Bartolo Colon went down with another injury, do you think John Lackey can hold it together as the Angels' ace, or will they pursue another pitcher?

Regardless of the status of either of those two pitchers, the Angels will likely make a run at a starter. As for Lackey, he must step up and become an ace on his own accord and not worry about the condition of the pitchers around him. The right-hander demonstrated the ability to dominate with his near perfect game in early July in Oakland, but he also struggled at times, such as the month of August, when he went 1-3 with a 6.55 ERA in six starts. The Angels need Lackey to establish consistency from start to start.
