The San Francisco Giants received permission from the Angels on Monday to interview pitching coach Bud Black, General Manager Bill Stoneman said.

Calls to Black were not returned, but the Giants have already begun interviewing candidates to replace Felipe Alou. San Francisco general manager Brian Sabean has already interviewed bench coach Ron Wotus and former catcher Bob Brenly, who managed the Arizona Diamondbacks to the World Series in 2001.
