Salmon hit with the best of them when it came to playing the Rangers in their own ballpark. So it figured that during his last at-bat in the Lone Star State, the ball left the park.

Salmon gave the Angels their only highlight with a ninth-inning, pinch-hit home run in an otherwise listless 8-1 defeat against the Texas Rangers.

As another loss all but confirmed there will be no playoffs this season, Salmon was careful to separate the joy of his Texas sendoff from the team-wide disappointment of a season that has gotten away.
